COLERAIN – Tips led to the arrest of a Bertie County woman here Tuesday.
Bertie County Sheriff John Holley said his office received numerous tips about the sale of drugs on Askew Street in Colerain and made an arrest thanks to those tips.
Deputies with the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office charged Annie Watford Perry, 43, of Askew Street with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule 2 narcotic (crack cocaine), possession of a schedule 2 narcotic (cocaine) and simple possession of a schedule 6 narcotic (marijuana).
Perry was placed in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail under a $10,000 secured bond and has since been released on bail.
Sheriff Holley said he appreciates the tips that led to Perry’s arrest and encouraged people in the area to continue informing his office of any illegal drug activity.
“We want to help the citizens in that area and throughout the county,” Sheriff Holley said. “We are dedicated to ridding Bertie County of drug activity and we feel like we have strong support from our citizens. We simply ask them to keep helping us as we continue our efforts.”
