JACKSON – A Virginia man is being extradited back to North Carolina after he allegedly kidnapped a woman.

According to Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent, Leonard Graham, 43 of 57 Bailey Road in Keysville, Va. was arrested on Tuesday in Virginia.

Vincent said Graham was taken into custody by the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office after they ran his name using NCIC (National Crime Information Center), which revealed he was wanted in connection with a kidnapping in Northampton County.

Vincent said the kidnapping occurred on Dec. 19, 2007 and arose out of “a domestic situation.” During the incident, Graham allegedly kidnapped a female acquaintance and assaulted her.

Graham is charged with second degree kidnapping, inflicting serious injury and communicating threats.

Graham is currently being held at the Prince Edward County Jail under no bond and awaiting extradition.
