Jessie O. Hoggard

COLERAIN n Jessie Odell Hoggard, 73, died December 8, 2007, in Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation of Windsor.

Miss Hoggard was a native of Bertie County, and was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sister, Betty Lou Hoggard of Windsor; and two brothers, Alvin V. “Goat” Hoggard, and Brodie E. Hoggard, both of Colerain.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Elm Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Preston Jernigan.  Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge.

Anthony B. Smallwood

WINDSOR – Anthony Barrett &uot;Tony&uot; Smallwood, 45, a native of Kings County, Brooklyn, NY, died December 4, 2007.

A funeral was conducted Monday in Indian Woods Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph White. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor. Cherry’s Funeral Homes was in charge.

Survivors include his mother, Lottie Skinner of Windsor; his father, Lindbergh Pugh of Greenville; a son, Antwan Bond and brother, Randy Smallwood, both of Windsor; and a sister, Wanda Smallwood of Williamsburg, Va.

Julia S. Boone

BRONX, N.Y. – Julia Sneed Boone, 84, died November 30, 2007.

A funeral was held Saturday in Metropolitan Interdenominational Church of God, Aulander. Wilder’s Funeral Home was in charge.

Ineva Smith

AHOSKIE n Ineva Smith, 79, a native of Gates, died December 7, 2007 at her residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stoney Branch in Gates by the Rev. Clarine Cooper. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday at Hertford County Undertakers Chapel, Sunbury.

Survivors include four sons, George T. Smith Jr. of Suffolk, Va., Robert D. Smith of Gates, Warren M. Smith of Ahoskie and Samuel O. Smith of Rosharon, Texas; three daughters, Anastasia Smith of Ahoskie, Dorothy S. Holland of Gates and Myrtle S. Hilliard of Ahoskie; three sisters, Rosa V. Boone of Gates, Della V. Lindsay of Portsmouth and Ora V. Hall of Gates; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Randy D. Watson

SAN ANGELO, Texas n Randy Deontra “Cricket” Watson, died December 5, 2007 at Shannon Hospital, San Angelo.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church, Lewiston. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include his mother, Shelley Watson; one sister, Deja Watson, both of San Angelo; and his grandmother, Theresa Bohannon of Tacomo, Washington.
