Paul Thomas Parker

AHOSKIE – Paul Thomas Parker, age 74, of Ahoskie died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Guardian Care. He was born September 17, 1937 in Hertford County to the late Paul M. Parker and Ethel Dilday Parker.
Paul, a retired supervisor from Union Camp, was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church. He was a past President and Secretary of the Como Ruritan Club, and a volunteer fireman and rescue squad member for the Town of Como. Mr. Parker was a delegate for the Office of Aging in Raleigh and served as a board member on the Board of Trustees for CPTA. He enjoyed delivering meals to the shut-ins.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elizabeth P. Parker; a daughter, Kim James and husband, Tim, of Stokesdale, NC; three sons, Tommy Parker and wife, Connie, of Aulander, Timmy Parker of Gary, GA, and Kevin Parker of Fredericksburg, VA; stepchildren, Pat Duke of Murfreesboro, Debbie Cowan and husband, Jerry, of Murfreesboro, Tracey White of Como, and Dawn Pomeroy and husband, Raymond, of Conway; and brothers, Berl Parker of Ahoskie and Henry Parker of Greenville; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Buckhorn Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. Memorials may be made to Como Rescue & Fire Department, 1201 US 258 North, Como, NC 27818.
