Two of three incumbents earn nod in Murfreesboro

Two of the three incumbents seeking reelection to the Murfreesboro Town Council were successful in their bids on Tuesday.

According to the unofficial results from the Hertford County Board of Elections, incumbent Councilwomen Gloria Odum and Sarah Whitley Wallace were each reelected. Odum was the top vote-getter in the field of seven candidates as she was named on 310 of the 1,758 total ballots cast. Wallace placed fourth among the top five candidates with 251 votes.

Earning the other three seats were Craig L. Dennis (266 votes), Hal Thomas (263 votes) and Randy Roberts (242 votes).

Bill Parker (213 votes) and long time incumbent Councilman Billy Theodorakis (199 votes) rounded out the field.

Murfreesboro’s incumbent Mayor John Hinton ran unopposed and collected 346 votes.
