MURFREESBORO – There is a replacement for retiring Murfreesboro Town Administrator Molly Eubank, for now at least.
Interim Town Administrator David Overton attended his first regular meeting of the Murfreesboro Town Council on Tuesday.
“For all of you who don’t know, this is our Interim Town Administrator David Overton,” said Mayor Lynn Johnson, introducing Overton to those who attended the meeting.
At a special meeting of the Murfreesboro Town Council on February 5 the board discussed Overton’s resume.
Mayor Johnson said she had heard nothing but “great things” about Overton.
Overton has served as town clerk and town administrator for Windsor as well as interim town administrator for Aulander.
After reading through his references, Councilman Bill Theodorakis offered a motion to have Overton come before the board on Feb. 9.
Overton will fill in for the retiring Eubank as the council’s search continues for a new town administrator.
Eubank has worked for the town for 23 years, first as town clerk then as town administrator. Her retirement will be effective Feb. 28.
The board approved Eubanks retirement on Jan. 9.
