RICH SQUARE – A father and his son are now sitting behind bars after being arrested Sunday on four charges, including breaking and entering, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Andrew Kenneth Bishop, 66, and his son Rudolph Valentino Bishop, 39, have been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods and one count of misdemeanor larceny. Both men are from Rich Square.

According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Captain Daryl Harmon, the arrests stem from a Dec. 26, 2006 break in at an unoccupied residence on Lovers Lane near Rich Square.

Aluminum siding windows, doors, interior copper wire and roofing tin was taken from the home along with scrap metal. Kitchen appliances were also stolen.

Harmon said the entire house was stripped, leaving only the wood frame.

An investigation then revealed the stolen items had been taken to a salvage yard and sold.

Andrew Bishop and Rudolph Bishop are being held in the Northampton County Jail on a $300,000 bond each. Both were scheduled for their first appearance in court yesterday (Monday).

Harmon said the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office has received similar complaints where metal siding and other valuable metals have been stolen from abandon homes.

“We encourage people who own abandon homes to keep in check with them,” said Harmon.
