REPUBLICAN – A two-month undercover investigation led to the arrest of a Bertie County man here last week.
Bertie County Sheriff John Holley said officers arrested Jamel Shevar Swain, 35, of Republican Road on two counts of sell and deliver of a schedule two controlled substance, which was crack cocaine.
Swain was placed in the Bertie Martin Regional Jail on Dec. 15 under a $100,000 secured bond.
“I am pleased with the work of our narcotics division,” Sheriff Holley said. “It’s important that we keep taking these people off the streets and in so doing make our county a safer place for our residents.”
