Margaret M. Dale

CORAPEAKE – Margaret Frances Mathias Dale, 71, a native of Gates County, died April 18, 2006, in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. She was the widow of Willie Jones and Wilson Dale.

Mrs. Dale was a homemaker and was a member of Eureka Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Jones of Corapeake and Thomas Dale of Portsmouth; and a sister, Eunice Mathias Carr of Virginia Beach.

Graveside services were conducted Friday in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Cameron Currin. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, was in charge. Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Eureka Baptist Church, Corapeake, NC 27926.

Martha L. Lassiter

WINTON n Martha Long Lassiter, died April 20, 2006 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Winton by the Rev. Dr. Claude Odom. Burial will be in St. John AME Zion Church Cemetery, Sunbury. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Mrs. Lassiter was a member of St. John AME Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Fletcher Lassiter of Winton; a daughter, Paulette Baldwin of Winton; and one grandchild.

Lalar Johnson

AHOSKIE n Lalar Johnson, died April 20, 2006 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
