LASKER – Ivey Little scored 21 points to pace the Northeast ladies Friday.

That, coupled with a full-court press and half-court trap on defense, led the Lady Eagles to a 46-21 Tarheel Independent Conference victory here Friday.

The game started with Albemarle taking a 2-0 lead just 30 seconds in to the contest. It was the only advantage the Lady Colts would enjoy though.

Little scored the first four points of the game and sparked a 12-0 spurt for Northeast as the Lady Eagles led 12-2 after one period. Kaylen Rose and Ashton Liverman also got in on the scoring for NEA.

Hannah Roye got things going in the second quarter when she hit 1-of-2 from the charity stripe.

The Lady Colts scored six of the next eight stopped only by a Liverman hoop as they closed within 15-8. They never got closer.

Rose hit two from the free throw line before Little rolled off eight unanswered on her own to give Northeast a comfortable 25-8 lead at halftime.

The Colts started the third quarter with the first bucket, but again Northeast responded. They put together an eight-point run paced by two scores from Little and one each from Liverman and Roye as the home team surged ahead 33-10.

Northeast led 37-16 after three quarters.

All the Lady Colts could manage in the fourth quarter was five points. All of those came in the first three minutes of the final period.

From there, Northeast controlled the rest of the game with shots by Liverman, Rose and Roye as they secured the 46-21 victory.

Northeast will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to league-leading Hobgood Academy.
