CLEARWATER BEACH, FL. – Jesse A. Brinkley, originally of Ahoskie, passed away at his home in Clearwater Beach, FL on January 22, 2012 at the age of 70 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Surrounded by his family, Jess was a model of grace and toughness as he dealt with his protracted illness.
Jesse’s entire business career was in the furniture industry, as a sales representative for Keller, Globe Furniture, Burlington and Stanley Furniture. He also served as the President of Lea Industries, and finally worked in the import arena first with PRI and then with HomElegance. He prided himself on moving forward with the industry as it changed over the years, and stayed involved as a consultant throughout his illness.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and Johnnie Ray Brinkley, and sister, Mildred Riddick, all of Ahoskie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kaye. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Brinkley of Oxford, NC as well as his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Samira, and his twin grandsons, Jackson & Nicky, all of Safety Harbor, FL.
Graveside services have been entrusted to Garrett Jones Funeral Home and will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Ahoskie Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Ward officiating. For additional information, call 252-332-3122.
