AULANDER – Mitchell’s 2 is on the move.

The voting precinct in the town of Aulander will be moved beginning with the November municipal elections, according to Bertie County Elections Director Shirlie Davenport.

The new polling place will be the Aulander Community Building, which is located at 116 South Commerce Street in the town. Voters will enter the Canal Street entrance, however, according to Davenport.

The previous polling place for the Mitchell’s 2 precinct was the Aulander Town Hall, which is at 124 Main Street. Mitchell’s 2 encompasses the town of Aulander and some surrounding areas.

&uot;We are pleased to be moving into a nice facility like the Aulander Community Building,&uot; Davenport said. &uot;It will give us more room and will be good for the voters and the poll workers.&uot;

All voters in the Mitchell’s 2 precinct have been notified by mail of the change in polling place, which became effective last month.
