Chowan graduation set May 14

MURFREESBORO – Chowan College will graduate 101 students on May 14 during commencement ceremonies.

Six Chowan College seniors will address the Class of 2005 during graduation exercises that will be held at 10 a.m. on the campus green. Student speakers include Holley Terry Taylor

(Murfreesboro), Robert Jason Ramey (Dallas, NC), William Joseph Andrews (Hubert, NC), Roland Brown (Chesapeake, Va.), Carey Elizabeth Campbell (Altavista, Va.) and Rebecca Dawn Lapham (Claremont, NC).

The students will speak on the topics of academics, honors organizations, campus religious programs, intercollegiate athletics, leadership activities and citizenship.

Chowan College is a private, liberal arts college that is the second oldest Baptist institution (founded in 1848) of higher learning in North Carolina. Students represent many faiths and come from several states and foreign countries. Student enrollment is around 800. The college offers B.S. and B.A. degrees and is affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
