COLERAIN – Lillie Fentress Pierce Mitchell, 93, of 1927 Wakelon Road, Colerain, died Sunday, April, 15, 2012.
She was born in Bertie County on October 10, 1918 to the late John and Clara Taylor Pierce and was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Arthur Mitchell; two brothers, Aubrey and Herbert Pierce; a sister, Fannie Sue Baker; and a son-in-law, Carlton Hill.
Mrs. Mitchell, a homemaker, was a member of Perrytown Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Perrytown Assembly of God Church by the Rev. David Baker. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy M. Hill, Catherine Evans and husband, Bernard; and Anita Hoggard and husband, Ernie, all of Colerain, and Sue Coffield and husband, Henry, of Oak City; sister, Mildred White, and brother, A. F. “Boney” Pierce, both of Colerain; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor and at other times from the home. Memorial gifts may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 107 W. Blvd. Williamston, NC 27892.
