WINDSOR – Quick reaction by the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office led to a breaking and entering being stopped in progress here recently.
Bertie County Sheriff John Holley said his officers were called to a residence on Woodard Road April 23 concerning a possible breaking and entering.
When deputies arrived they could see people in the residence, but were told that no one was supposed to be home, according to Holley.
“Deputies covered the front and back door,” Holley said. “They announced themselves and then two men walked out the back door of the residence and were taken into custody.”
Apprehended at the scene were Kevin Wesson Jr. and Larry Williams. The two reported to officers that there was a third person in the residence.
“Deputies then entered the residence and began searching for other people,” Holley explained. “They found another suspect in a child’s bedroom located at the rear of the home and he was also taken into custody.”
The third suspect was identified as Julius Williams.
Wesson, 18, was listed as from Morning Road in Windsor while Larry Williams, 27, and Julius Williams, 33, were both listed as living on Cypress Lane in Windsor.
All three were charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods or property. They were each placed in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail under a $6,000 bond.
