Pearl B. Berry

WINDSOR – Pearl B. Berry, 97, died May 8, 2004, in the Three Rivers Health and Rehab Center, Windsor.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beacon Light Baptist Church, Windsor. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Gilliam Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge.

Rosebud Freeman

POWELLSVILLE – Rosebud Drake Freeman, 89, a native of Bertie County, died May 9, 2004, at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Soul Saving Station Church by Bishop Val Melendez. Burial will be in the Moore’s Cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, George Freeman of Newark, N.J., Joseph Freeman of Powellsville, Clarence Freeman of New York and Donell Freeman of Ahoskie; four daughters, Rosa Lee Tyler of Connecticut, Mary Jean Freeman, Anna Freeman and Cleo Freeman, all of Powellsville; two sisters, Lois Harrell and Earlee Wynn, both of Powellsville; she reared six grandchildren; 38 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Bobby Arnold Sr.

NEWARK, Del. – Bobby Wendell Arnold Sr., 53, a native of Northampton County, died May 10, 2004 at his residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Baptist Church by Elder Arthur Clark. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Arnold was retired from a casket factory.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Arnold of Rich Square; two sons, Bobby Wendell Arnold Jr. of Newark and Marcus Terrell Arnold of Rich Square; one daughter, Theresa Hoggard of Rich Square; two brothers, Matthew Arnold of Rich Square and Robert Whitaker of Roanoke Rapids; and three grandchildren.

William Bazemore

WASHINGTON, D.C. – William Eddie Bazemore, 91, a native of Bertie County, died May 9, 2004 at his residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Luella Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Bazemore family cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Bazemore was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his children, Zelma Williams of Edgewater Park, N.J., Annis Jean Clark of Riverside, Md.; one sister, Annie Ruth Wilkins of Aulander; one brother, Lassiter Bazemore of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Robert E. Green

HALIFAX – Robert E. Green, 79, died May 7, 2004.

A funeral was conducted Wednesday in New Jerusalem Holiness Church. Burial was in Roanoke Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home, Garysburg, was in charge.

Emma Stephenson

WOODLAND – Emma Stephenson, 70, a native of Northampton County, died May 11, 2004, at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.
