Maggie V. Graves

FRANKLIN, Va. – Maggie Virginia Graves, a native of Southampton Count, died April 7, 2004, in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. She was the widow of Richard Graves.

A funeral was conducted Sunday at Mill Neck Missionary Baptist Church, Como, by the Rev. Benson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge.

Mrs. Graves was a member of Mill Neck Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Diamond Grove Senior Citizen, and a missionary and deaconess.

Survivors include two daughters, Mamie C. Wiggins of Suffolk and Hazel C. Banks of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Arthur Lewter

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Arthur Lewter, 67, a native of Harrellsville, died April 8, 2004, at his home.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Harrellsville, by the Rev. Robert Lewis. Burial will be in the Lewter family cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Lewter was employed until retirement by the New York City Board of Education in Queens as a school security.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lewter of Gettysburg, Pa.; his mother, Pecora Lewter of Brooklyn; four daughters, Janice Holyfield of Ahoskie, Denise Prinale of Memphis, Tenn., the Rev. Jacqueline Lewis of Newburgh and Deatrice Lewter of Brooklyn; two sons, Keith Lewter of Hanover and Kevin Lewter of Ahoskie; one sister, Gladys Perry of Brooklyn; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ginger D. Dunlow

WINDSOR – Ginger Danielle Dunlow, 17, a native of Hertford County, died April 11. 2004, at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Douglas Knox and the Rev. Eddie Norris. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home and at other times from their home.

Miss Dunlow was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Williamston.

Survivors include her mother, Paula Knox Dunlow; her father, Eddie Irvin Dunlow, both of Windsor; and her maternal grandparents, Brasco and Sadie Knox of Robersonville.

Audrey Perry

WOODLAND – Audrey Perry, 44, a native of Northampton County, died April 9, 2004, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Sinai by the Rev. Arthur Clark. Burial will be in the Gatling family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

She was a nursing assistant for Carolina Home Care and a member of First Baptist Church Rich Square.

Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline Perry of Woodland, Juanita Roberson and Jessica Jacobs, both of Rich Square; her mother, Helen Perry of Rich Square; three brothers, William Perry of Pennsaukum, N.J., Theodore Perry of Camden, N.J., and Leon Cowan of Long Island; four sisters, Carolyn Jacobs of Rich Square, Mary Roberson of Plainfield and Helen Rowland of Moorestown and Roberta Bennett of Rochester; and five grandchildren.

Andrew J. Johnson Jr.

MURFREESBORO – Andrew Jackson Johnson Jr., 62, a native of Northampton County, died April 9, 2004, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Sinai Church of God with Pastor Arthur Clark. Burial will be in the Johnson family cemetery. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy B. Johnson; children, Gary Johnson, Larry Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Annette Bishop and Stephanie Bush, all of Murfreesboro, and Bonita Weaver of Woodland; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
