Ronald “Ron” Earl Moore was born on June 21, 1951 to the late Major Moore, Jr. and Ruby Manley Moore.  God called him into eternal rest on Friday, May 25, 2012 after a short illness.

In the years of his youth, Ron enjoyed playing ball with his friends and enjoyed being outside.  He grew up in Winton where he attended Calvin S. Brown Elementary and High School and graduated from Murfreesboro High School in June 1971.

Later, Ron moved to Washington, D. C. and worked at Howard University for 12 years.  He returned home to Winton in the early 90’s and found employment with Perdue (Lewiston).  Ron spent the remaining 16 years at Perdue.

Ron was a hard working brother, who also found time to enjoy life with family and friends.  A friendly man who loved to talk, he easily made friends on and off the jobs he held.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Eboni Sullivan of Washington, D. C.; one brother, Robert Moore (Tammy) of Ahoskie; four aunts, Beatrice Hicks of Hampton, VA, Aretha Greene and Marie Manley, both of Winton, and Doris Diggs of Hampton, VA; one uncle, Gary Manley (Avis) of Hampton, VA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends and acquaintances.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the C. S. Brown Regional Cultural Arts Center at 511 Main Street in Winton, NC at 1 p.m.
