Mamie Scott Hall of Ahoskie died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
Born in Ahoskie, Mamie retired from Hertford County Public Schools after 31 years of service as a classroom teacher. She was a member of the New Ahoskie Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir, Trustee Board, Courtesy Guild, Birthday Club and Prayer Band. She was also affiliated with Xi-Rho Omega Chapter of The AKA Sorority, Inc., AARP-Chapter 2423, North Carolina Retired School Personnel and ECSU-Alumni Chapter.
Survivors include two sons, Chester Hall of Greenville and Monte Hall of Winston-Salem; two step-sons, Frederick “Ricky” Hall and James “Bud” of Ahoskie; one brother, Raymond Moore, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; and two sisters, Camellia Moore of Decatur, Ga. and Yvette Moore-Turner of Brooklyn, NY.
Family visitation will be held at from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at The New Ahoskie Baptist Church.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at The New Ahoskie Baptist Church with the Rev. C. David Stackhouse officiating.
