Joseph E. Lilley Jr., of NC Hwy. 37, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
A native of Gates County he was a retired electrician from Hercules, Inc. and was most recently employed as a mail courier with CRMP, Inc. He was a member and deacon at Reynoldson Baptist Church, a member of the Gates Ruritan Club and served on the board of directors of the Gates Volunteer Fire Department, where he had formerly been a member.
Survivors include his son, Dean Lilley of Eure; his brother, William Lee Lilley of Carrollton, VA; and a granddaughter.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Reynoldson Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the home of his son, 1303 US 158 West, Eure.
