Willie Earnest Garris Jr., 86, of South Main Street, Rich Square died Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.
A native of Northampton County, he served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a self-employed plaster. He was a member of Willow Oak AME Church, Rich Square.
Survivors include his wife, Clementine N. Garris of Rich Square; daughters, Elaine Henry and Patsy Ray, both of Durham; sons, Eugene Garris of Murfreesboro and Randy Garris of Rich Square; sisters, Maude Derr of Waterford, CT, Cleo Langford of Potecasi and Evelyn Clark of Rich Square; a brother, Patrick Garris of Rich Square; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Willow Oak AME Church with the Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
