Daniel James Smith, 55, of Jordan Lane in Powellsville died Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
A native of Toledo, OH, he attended Powellsville Baptist Church and was a concrete plant supervisor. He was also an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ann C. Smith; his mother, Julia Smith Stuart of Ohio; two daughters, Shannon Lang and Shayna Dawson, both of Winder, GA; a son, Shawn Smith of Dayton, OH; his stepchildren, Michael Faulkner of Afghanistan, Julie Coleman and Lee Coleman, both of Powellsville, Eugene Archer, Jr. and Joshua Archer, both of Ahoskie; a sister, Linda Lipinski of Ohio; two half brothers, Joe Stuart and Richard Stuart, both of Ohio; and several grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Powellsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Copeland officiating.
